The Cumbria Headache Forum has doubled the number of people they are helping managing living with headaches through an online session held last week.
Over 100 members of the public and healthcare professionals took part in the event on November 5th they held their first inaugural session remotely using the MS teams.
There were presentations from the speakers with an interactive facility where participants could submit questions during and after the event.
Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. This message was sent from a participant who has suffered from migraines for 25 years “Huge thanks once again for the wonderful presentations and excellent interactive format. I can't praise you enough for holding this; it really felt that we were being heard and our experiences taken note of.”
Dr Jitka Vanderpol Consultant Neurologist and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer UCLAN said that “As feedback from attendees has been extremely positive, we are looking at running another event in March, with the hope and expectation that it will become more of a national event now that people don’t have to physically travel to Penrith to attend.”
The forum was a collaboration between North Cumbria Integrated Care, BASH (the British association for the Study of Headache), Dr Tim Sanders and Han Chong from CHoC Solutions who hosted the event and UCLan. Dr Vanderpol was supported by guest speakers Dr Manuela Fontebasso and Miss Siobhan Jones.
Due to the event being held remotely, word of mouth spread it beyond the boundaries of Cumbria and there were people from other parts of the UK joining as well.
