NEWWCHpic.PNGA new exit is being created at the West Cumberland Hospital so emergency vehicles will not be held up during demolition work.

Work to create the new exit will start on 10 February for approximately four weeks.

Staff, patients, ambulances and visitors by car will continue to enter the hospital site round the one way system but will leave the hospital via the new exit.

A small number of parking spaces will be lost to create the new exit.

The demolition traffic will have its own designated in and out route so will not interfere or cause any hold ups with hospital vehicles.

Road markings, traffic cones and road works signage will be installed to divert traffic onto new exit road when completed.

Construction access and egress will be traffic marshalled by GBM / Stobbarts to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles.

Solid hoarding will be placed around the perimeter for the duration of the demolition site for health and safety reasons.

The old blocks to be are programmed to finish by September 2020.

Any concerns should be directed to the project management office on 01946 523130.
