An online event for teachers and careers advisors to find out more about careers in the NHS will take place on Friday, November 13 from 9.30am to 1pm.

The event provides an update on the NHS career opportunities available to young people and school leavers in Carlisle, Eden, Allerdale and Copeland.

During the half day session, speakers from the NHS will showcase a selection of careers and advise on how you may support a young person in accessing a role in healthcare.

The timetable will run as follows:

9.30am to 9.50am – Welcome and introduction and keynote talk: The future workforce of the NHS

9.50am to 10.30am – Career Insights – Getting into Nursing and Midwifery; Careers in the Allied Health Professions; AHP Nursing and Midwifery Q&A.

10.30am to 10.45am – NHS Apprenticeships

10.45am to 11am - Local Opportunities

11am to 11.10am – Helping young people find and apply for jobs

11.10am to 11.20am – Break

11.20am to 12.10pm – Career Insights – Medicine, dentistry and associated roles; careers in healthcare science; Medicine, dentistry and healthcare science Q&A.

12.10pm to 12.40pm – Career insights – The wider workforce and the use of technology to provide better care for patients.

12.40pm to 1pm – Final Q&A/End of session.
